Simangele Mahlalela is an Investment Professional within the Impact Investing Rental Team at Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI). She is responsible for the strategic asset management and investment oversight of residential and student accommodation portfolios, with a focus on driving asset performance, optimising value and delivering investment and impact objectives.

Simangele joined OMAI in 2022 as a Property Analyst within the Greenfields Development team, with responsibilities spanning development and asset management, before progressing to her current role as an Investment Professional. Prior to joining OMAI, she gained extensive experience in town planning, property development and project management, with involvement in residential developments and the delivery of turnkey housing projects.

Simangele holds an MBA, MSc (Building) and BSc (Hons) in Urban and Regional Planning, all from the University of Witwatersrand. She is a Professional Planner registered with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).
